Terms of Service

The Service

CookDay helps personal chefs plan menus, collect household approvals, and manage related workflows. Features may change as we improve the product.

Your account

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and use the Service lawfully.

Client and household data

If you enter information about your clients or their households, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so and for informing them as required. We process that information to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Subscriptions and fees

After any applicable beta period and CookDay’s 14-day free trial (no payment card required to start the trial), subscription is $50/month or $500/year unless you are founding-eligible as described above. Subscriptions are billed automatically until you cancel. Map listing on PersonalChefFinder is included with an active CookDay subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe. Cancel anytime from Settings → Manage billing (Stripe Customer Portal). Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. If your trial ends without a subscription, you may export your data or delete your account from Settings or the subscribe screen. Recipe export is the master library unless you include household versions. Canceling a subscription does not delete your account or the data in it.

Cookies and analytics

We use optional cookies for analytics and advertising as described in our Cookie Policy. You can accept or reject optional cookies; rejecting them does not block your use of the Service. We do not use session replay or screen recording.

Account and data

You may delete your account from Settings or the billing screen. Deletion removes your recipes, clients, menus, and related data from our primary database at that time. Canceling a subscription does not delete your account. While your account is open, including during free beta, we keep that data.

We do not automatically delete accounts. Some copies sit outside that deletion: short-lived database backups, analytics events already sent, records Stripe keeps, calendar events already sent to Google, and signed files.

Declined client inquiries are removed after 90 days. Nutrition-match telemetry is removed after 12 months. Those deletions are separate from deleting an account.

If we discontinue the Service

If we discontinue the Service, we will email you at least 30 days before the shutdown date. Ending beta, described above, is a different event. Beta can end and the Service can continue.

For at least 60 days after the shutdown date, you can export your data with the in-product export. That export includes recipes, clients, and related records. Menu files in the export are summaries. We will remove our copy of that data from the primary database within 30 days after the export window closes.

We will not bill another CookDay subscription period after we send that notice. If you already paid a subscription fee for time after the shutdown date, we will refund that unused portion. You can still export during the export window.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page with a new Last updated date. The new version applies when it is posted. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated Terms.

Assignment

If we sell or transfer the business that operates the Service, we may transfer the information you store in CookDay to the successor. The successor must protect that information under these Terms and the Privacy Policy. We will notify you of the transfer. This does not transfer a separate product you use under its own terms.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the Service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with other users, or upload unlawful content. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties and limit liability for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
